Solo Exhibition - EARTH
On this second Monday of SUññATA, a solo exhibition in sustainable textile and sound by EiY (Emily Peters), we gather in the name of Earth. Surrounded by field recording soundscapes from South Florida, Southern California and Northern Thailand, first we will open our energy channels with pranayama and loosen our physical bodies with free movement inspired by Gaga Metodika. Then, we will paint with one of the oldest methods of dyeing that can be found in different forms all throughout the world’s history: combining mineral pigments with a glutenous substance and applying it to fabric. Release yourself to your inner knowing and Investigate mark-making with a variety of tools, found objects, brushes or even your hands using a prepared solution of Earth pigments and soy. Bring your own fabrics or objects to upcycle, or use the artist’s fabrics, and be sure to wear clothing that you don’t mind getting creative in. To close, we’ll share our experiences and insights with each other.

For the months of July & August, EiY (Emily) will be exhibiting a solo show inside the CollaboARTive Gallery in the Intercontinental Hotel in Miami’s downtown Bayshore area. Join us every Monday in the month of July for a sound immersion, somatic exploration and/or meditation within the zero-waste artwork that explores non-duality, the humanity of our interconnectedness, and our placement in this universe.
In SUññATA, EiY (Emily Peters) presents a body of participatory installation works spanning the mediums of sustainable textile, sound, film and performance that engage in subconscious mind repatterning, nervous system re-regulation and self-inquiry. Thanks to CollaboARTive’s Artist Residency, Noche de Arte, EiY’s Earth-centered and zero-waste works can be viewed at Gallery 100 in the Intercontinental Hotel in downtown Miami. Every Monday in July, surrounded by EiY's zero-waste, earth pigment dyed works, we will journey together through experiences that explore the elements - Air, Earth and Water - invite deep rest, through the tools of sound immersion and deep listening, free movement, mark-making with mineral pigments, and sub-tropical herbalism. Drop in with the artist in a cocoon of earth-dyed, hand-formed textile art and earth-magic inspired sounds.

Solo Exhibition - WATER
The final immersive experience amidst EiY’s solo sustainable textile and sound exhibition traverses the element of Water. Together we will flow through pranayama to clear, soothe and activate our energy channels, then drift with a free-movement exploration inspired by Gaga Metodika. This method of movement provides a fluid, unfettering structure for investigating texture, meandering through sensation, relating to gravity and surrendering the mind to the innate wisdom of the body and its qi (or energy). After we have inquired in this physical way, we will receive a sound bath from the cosmic sounds of the wind gong, crystal singing pyramid, Tibetan singing bowls, kyizi (Nepalese gongs), wayunki (a newer instrument created in eastern Europe, that has a sound somewhere between a xylophone, a theremin and a chime), gentle shakers, and bamboo flute. To close, we’ll ground and share with each other.

SO SOFT
Concept:
The SO SOFT installation is a conversation about rest, self-reflection, sustainability and regenerative practices, and how each of these things intersects. It is accompanied by a soundscape and film of the same name.
Description:
Set amidst the zero-waste installation titled SO SOFT, together we will flow through pranayama to clear, soothe and activate our energy channels, then drift with a free-movement exploration inspired by Gaga Metodika. This method of movement provides a fluid, unfettering structure for investigating texture, meandering through sensation, relating to gravity and surrendering the mind to the innate wisdom of the body and its qi (or energy). After we have inquired in this physical way, we will lounge on the pillows of the SO SOFT installation and receive a sound bath from the cosmic sounds of the wind gong, crystal singing pyramid, Tibetan singing bowls, kyizi (Nepalese gongs), wayunki (a newer instrument created in eastern Europe, that has a sound somewhere between a xylophone, a theremin and a chime), gentle shakers, and bamboo flute. Solo Exhibition - AIR
Drop in with us for an evening of exploring the Air element. We’ll immerse in care, rest, and self reflection at the opening of SUññATA, a solo exhibition by EiY (Emily Peters). With nourishing subtropical herbal teas, grown in EiY’s permaculture food forest, we will remember, honor and thank our relationship with the Earth. Together we will sip some refreshing tisanes and decoctions - made mostly from the aerial parts of plants - and craft our own herbal blends to take home. Then, we invite you to view and move to the soundscape films SO SOFT and HERE. As the films meander through sensations of presence and remembrances of oneness you are free to lounge with the SO SOFT pillow installation, move with the vibrations, or sit in self-reflection, so be sure to wear your comfiest, moveable, relaxing clothes. To close the evening, we’ll share with each other, submerged in soothing ambient music and continue to get to know our native and naturalized south florida plant relatives.
